Srinagar: Brazil football legend Pele as per reports has been moved to end-of-life support after World Cup winner former star stopped responding to chemotherapy treatment.

“Pele has been moved into ‘palliative care’ and is no longer able to respond to chemotherapy,” Brazilian outlet Folha reported.

Pele was re-admitted in Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Tuesday.

The 82-year-old has been going under chemotherapy since September 2021.

Though hospital official didnt mention anything related to Pele being moved to life support, the Folha have reported that the 82-year-old is no longer responding to the chemotherapy he has been undergoing for bowel cancer since last September, and he will not undergo any further invasive tests or treatments as he is in end-of-life care.

Before Brazil’s match against Cameroon at the World Cup on Friday, fans held up a banner with a message of support to the former striker.
