Srinagar: Sub Judge, Secretary District Legal Service Authority, Srinagar, Fauzia Paul on Friday flagged off J&K Carrom team for the National Championship from TRC Srinagar.
The J&K Carrom team will be representing J&K in the 50th (Golden Jubilee) Senior National Carrom Championship at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi from November 7 to 11.
Paul flagged off contingent in presence of DySp Sheikh Aadil (PC Srinagar International Airport), Zeeshan Khan (Asst. Director Tourism Kashmir), Rauf Tramboo (Former Member J&K Sports Council), Mudasir Khan (President), Adil Rashid Shah (General Secretary), Adfar Jan (Joint Secretary), and other members of the association were also present.
Jammu and Kashmir Carrom Association selected 12 members team include Furqan Nazir, Arsalan Nazir, Romin Fayaz, Shahid Ahmad, Fuzail Khan and Zaid Bin Ajaz in the men team while as Anzalna Rafiq, Mehak Nabi, Kazima Khursheed, Ridda Maddni, Anisa Qayoom and Shazia Noor in the Women team for the participation in the said national. Danish Bashir & Asra Shafi will accompany the team as Manager Men & Women team respectively. Arif Sultan Secretary & Dawar Rashid Member of the J&K Carrom Association will also accompany the team.
On the occasion Fauzia Paul, Zeeshan Khan, Rauf Tramboo interacted with the players, encouraged them to work hard in Studies simultaneously in sports as well to get laurels for the Jammu & Kashmir, the Guests wished all the players & association good luck for the Championship.
