Srinagar, Sept 26: With the aim to inculcate & promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, besides taking forward youth friendly policing initiative particularly in rural areas, Ganderbal Police under aegis of CAP (Civic Action Programme) organized a Volleyball tournament-2020 in collaboration with Kangan Sports Association at Government Higher Secondary School Kangan.

In opening ceremony, a volleyball match was played between Kangan Seniors V/S Kangan Juniors which was won by Kangan Juniors, a Police handout said.

On the occasion, Additional SP Ganderbal Feroz Yehya-JKPS accompanied by SDPO Kangan, SHO Police Station Kangan and other officials were present. Besides, President Traders Union Kangan, President Kangan Cricket Board (KCB), respectable citizens and sports lovers of the area witnessed the opening ceremony of the Volleyball tournament.

These sports tournaments are organized by District Police Ganderbal under Civic Action Programme to explore the talent/capability of youth to prove themselves, Additional SP Ganderbal said while addressing the gathering. Further, he said that sports is the best way to channelize energy of youth in a positive manner.
