Pakistan levelled the series score 1-1 by winning the third of five fixtures 4-2 against New Zealand on Monday.
After Saturday’s 2-2 draw, Pakistan played with zeal and was in control for most of the match, with a number of penalty corner attempts throughout the match.
With a 1-0 lead at halftime, Pakistan charged ahead and Abu Mahmood’s hat-trick sealing the deal for the green shirts.
Pakistan were the first to score thanks to a penalty corner strike from Abdul Haseem Khan in the sixth minute.
Mahmood’s second goal came in the 35th minute which felt like a replay of his first goal, following another penalty corner.
The Kiwis responded in the 45th minute when Cory Bennett sent home a penalty corner flick.
