HUMBLED: Delhi FC thrash Downtown Heroes FC 3-0 in 2nd Div. I-League

LocalHUMBLED: Delhi FC thrash Downtown Heroes FC 3-0 in 2nd Div. I-League

Srinagar: The overhyped and full of expert coaches and advisors , Srinagar based Downtown Heroes FC continued its bad start in the second division I-League as they were thrashed by Delhi FC 3-0 at Minerva Academy Ground on Friday.

After having suffered defeat in its opening game of the league against minnows Jagjit Singh Academy on March 14, Downtown Heroes FC coached by only Pro License coach of Kashmir, Hillal Parray and assisted by couple of more coaches were hoping to make a strong comeback against Delhi side who also had suffered defeat in opener.

However, all the plans of Downtown Heroes FC were dashed as Delhi FC thrashed Downtown Heroes FC by 3-0. It was complete dominant performance from the hosts as they didn’t allow Srinagar based football team to make inroads.

Gaurav Rawat scored first goal for Delhi in the sixth minute. At halftime Delhi FC was leading by 1-0.

In the second half Delhi FC continued its dominance as they went on to score two more goals.

Nirmal Singh Bisht scored second goal for Delhi FC in the 58th minute and in the 78th minute Mohammad Inam made it 3-0 for Delhi FC.

Gaurav Rawat was awarded man of the match and with this win Delhi FC opened its account on points table while Downtown Heroes FC suffered second consecutive defeat.

The Downtown Heroes FC had to start its season with two away from home matches. They will next play Techtro Swades on March 27 at TRC Srinagar ground.

Though the away points value a lot in the league phase, Downtown Heroes would like to make a strong comeback when they begin their home journey.

For Downtown Heroes FC, it has been the case of over confidence filled with over crowded experts. With too many, experts, coaches and now also an expert manager, the side seem to have lost touch with basics which  has been visible during its two away outings.

The biggest low for the side seem to be having an Pro Licence level coach who has never managed any top level side in his career. The coach has been stuck in second division league and mostly with home sides with exception being two outside J&K team where he didn’t  achieve any success or worthwhile achievement.

For the team it would have been better to assign the reigns of the team to any young coach who would have hunger to achive and prove something.

It is hoped that Team management that is also crowded, take some serious decisions before relaunching its campaign.
