Srinagar Feb 08: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) defeated Sudeva Delhi FC with 4-2 in the Hero I-League 2022-2023 on Wednesday at the Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar.

This was the first win of Snow Leopards under newly appointed head coach Gifton Noel Williams.

Since the beginning of the match, the RKFC players looked more aggressive and scored two goals in the initial minutes of the game. In the first half, it was leading 2-1. However, in the second half, Sudeva Delhi launched a promising counter attack and managed to score one more goal and equalized the score. The RKFC then scored two more goals and won the game 4-2.

Williams said it was a must win for the RKFC and get three points. “We created chances and scored two goals in the first 20 minutes. Then in the second half, we scored two more goals and won the game. Although I am happy that we won the game, I am not satisfied the way we played today. The performance has to be much better. But after winning the game, the confidence of players has gone up and we hope to see good football in the next game that is on Saturday,” he said, while asking RKFC fans to come out in large numbers and witness the rest of the matches.

Richard Agyemang, who was presented with the hero of the match award, said he was excited to play in Kashmir. “It is a great moment to play in front of local fans,” he added.
