Srinagar: The rising star power hitter of Pakistan Cricket Azam Khan after playing another match winning knock on PSL 2023 has set his eyes on improving his fitness.

Azam Khan scored 72 runs off 41 deliveries to guide Islamabad United to a six-wicket win over Karachi Kings on Friday.

The right-handed batsman was pumped up to work on his fitness and aimed to improve more in the upcoming matches. While talking in the post-match conference, Azam said that he understands the importance of athletic fitness.

“Allah has made me perform so much. I’m happy and really thankful for that. I’m not denying that I need to work on my fitness – I have to work very hard on myself, and God-willing, you will see me working hard on myself in the future,” Azam said.

“Last year, I wasn’t that good against pace, but this year, I’m averaging 40 at the strike rate of 155. I always check my stats and I’m never satisfied, so I always try to improve. I’ve improved against pace, but I still prefer facing spin because I know I can be more dominant against it,” he added.

Azam remained unbeaten while pursuing the 202-run chase, helping Islamabad to land a win in 19.2 overs.

Islamabad maintained control of the run chase with the help of a magnificent century partnership between Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf – 124 runs in 69 balls.
