In a first, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association on Friday evening arranged an Iftaar Party for district coordinators at its Srinagar office.

In order to assemble the memebers for a meet-up, the state’s major cricket body called them for a get-together,

“We were thinking about this type of a get-together. It really was more successful than we thought. District coordinators got to meet each other and talk several important issues,” a JKCA official told KSW.

The coordinators called this meet a ‘must’,

“These type of things are a must. First time we felt that we are also a part of JKCA,” a district coordinator said.

“We really thank CEO and others at JKCA who are taking such type of decisions. In meetings like these, one gets to know each other and most importantly share problems with the association,” another coordinator remarked.

A couple of years ago, the association was taken over by Supreme Court-appointed administrators who later brought in Ashiq Bukhari to handle the affairs of the association.

Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India approved the newly framed constitution of JKCA, which gives each district an equal representation.
