Srinagar, October 5: In memory of Late Farooq Ahmad , the Pele of Kashmir League Cum Knockout football tournament 2021 kick started at Eidgah Playfield Srinagar on Monday, October 4.
In the event total of 20 clubs of Super Division are participating . The tournament will be held in two stages. In the first stage 12 teams will compete in a league format divided in four groups. The four top teams of all the groups will join another eight Top Super Division Clubs and these 12 teams will play on knockout basis.
The first match of the tournament was played between Kashmir United FC and Rangreth FC in which Kashmir United FC defeated Rangrath FC by 4-1.
This tournament is being held in the memory of late Farooq Ahmad Bhat, a veteran footballer of erstwhile J&K State and is being held in Downtown Idgah playfield.
The tournament is being organized by player Welfare Forum Iddgah in collaboration with J&K Football Association.
Fayaz Ahmad Sofi , President DFA Srinagar was the chief guest on the occasion and was accompanied by Mohammad Iqbal, Asst Organizing Secretary DAF Srinagar.
Among others who were present on the Occasion where Abdul Hameed Shall, Abdul Hameed Makaya, Ghulam Ahmad Kumar, Nazir Ahmad Dalal, Farooq Ahmad Bolla, Mushtaq Ahmad Kanth, Lateef Ahmad and others .
