Subsequently, selection process was held by the JKCA across the Valley. The shortlisted players were then called for the selection process monitored and by Pathan.

The selected players from under-14, 16, 19 and 23 age groups from far flung areas arrived in Srinagar on Thursday for a two-day selection process.

“I am happy to see such a raw talent. There is no substitute to hard work and at all levels of cricket. It is basic need for delivering well on the field,” Pathan told the players.

Invoking Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram, Pathan told the players to work harder. “Akram who was known for his lethal yorkers would train in nets for close to one and half hour every day,” he said.
