Srinagar: Continuing with its endeavour to contribute towards society through CSR interventions, J&K Bank today distributed sports kits among budding footballers receiving professional football training from J&K Bank Football Academy.

Bank’s General Manager CSR & Chairman of J&K Bank’s Sports Board Syed Rais Maqbool and General Manager HR, Culture & Sports Sushil Kumar Gupta, who is also Vice-Chairman of the Bank’s Sports Board,  handed over the kits to the players in presence of Deputy General Manager Sports and Culture Arshid Qadri, Assistant General Manager Rafi Ahmad Mir besides various officials of the Bank at Bank’s Corporate Headquarters.

Calling the players ambassadors of J&K Bank, Syed Rais Maqbool urged the players to make most of the talent and opportunities provided to them to bring laurels for themselves, Bank, J&K and eventually for the country.

“Football is a widely followed and played sport in this part of the country and Bank has always been at the forefront of contributing its bit to provide opportunity to talent. Arranging sports kits for young and upcoming players is yet another small contribution from J&K Bank towards development of football in J&K.” he said.

On the occasion Sushil Kumar Gupta while advocating for fine balance to be maintained between playing and studies, stated, “Wearing a badge of J&K Bank on your chest brings with it a great responsibility. Respect the badge. Respect the sport. Success will be yours. Represent J&K Bank, J&K and country with honour.”

Arshid Qadri urged the players to inculcate sports spirit amongst themselves from the young age which will help them becoming a better human being in the longer run.

Huzaifa Ahmad Dar, a J&K Bank Academy player, who recently represented India U-17 was also appreciated for the breakthrough milestone with dignitaries egging him on to work hard for representing senior India team in the future.
