There were numerous reports and also KSW had reported that Under-23 team selection list was prepared in presence of former JKCA General Secretary. It was total violation of code of conduct pertaining to selection of State cricket teams. No one other than selectors are allowed to be part of the selection process and not to talk of former official.

Acting tough on reports and also to send message to future selectors that no violation of rules and indiscipline would be tolerated the whole selection committee was sacked.

“They were simply asked to step down in order to pave way for new committee. They understood what went wrong and what are the charges against them hence did exactly what was asked for,” said a JKCA official.

Meanwhile JKCA on Wednesday appointed new selection committee with SP Qaiser as its chairman. They will be selecting team for the Vijay Hazare one Day Trophy.
