Srinagar, July 6: J&K Football Association held its meeting which was attended by its DFA’s, Zones and members and it has lashed out at National and International Footballers Forum (NIFF) for maligning the image of football body.
“A Meeting of the Office Bearers of All DFA’s, Zones and Members of J&K football Association was held on July 5, Sunday, at Hotel Pincer Boulevard Road Srinagar. The Meeting was Chaired by Peer Sirajudin Senior Vice President (North) and all the guidelines of Covid-19 pandemic were followed. The Office bearers, members of all DFA’s/Zone’s of Kashmir Province were present in the meeting,” JKFA Statement read.

In the statement JKFA said that meeting was called to make members aware about the campaing campaign launched by NIFF against JKFA and clear the doubts .
“The Meeting was called to clear the doubts arising out of the misinformation campaign launched by (NIFF) a self styled group regarding expenditure incurred on Mufti Memorial Gold Cup Football Tournament 2017-18 & Khelo India. In this connection a power point presentation was displayed by Finance Committee of JKFA, giving details of income received & expenditure incurred on MMS F/B Tournament as per the JK Sports Council orders & guidelines issued from time to time. The members expressed satisfactions over the functioning/Accounts of JKFA & expressed their solidarity with the Association. The DFA’s/Zones were informed that the moment the balance amount of Rs. One Crore is released by the Sports Council, It will be credited to the accounts of DFA’s/Zones as per their claims,” Statement reads.
In the statement JKFA has said that the members of meeting also discussed the memorandum submitted by J&K State Sports Council employees and Lt Governor and Advisors.
“The Committee also discussed the Memorandum submitted by the employees of JKSC to Lt. Governor & his Advisors few days back and support some football related contents. It has been pointed out that there is large scale bungling and irregularities in the funds spent by the Core group of State Football Academy,” it said.
“The core group of SFA and few JK Bank Employees have created NIFF to defame JKFA by levelling baseless and false allegations. This core group tries to cover up the misappropriation of Sports Council funds under their command. We want to inform the members and football players of the UT not to fall a prey to these disgruntled people who are making allegations and running social media campaigns against JKFA & using un-parliamentary language against the members of JKFA for their personal interests,” JKFA statement further reads.
In the meeting it was resolved that all DFA’s will start the process of Registration and wait for the directions of the Govt. for further action. The Members suggested ways and means for the upliftment, improvement regarding development of football activities in UT. The House thanked secretary JKSSC for providing grants to the Association for conducting activities & requested him to release the pending payments due to the Association in order to clear the liabilities, statement added.
