PRESS RELEASE

Based on the recommendations of Ashwani Gupta, Tournament Incharge of the ongoing Talent Hunt 2022, a pair of SG spikes was presented to a cricketer who comes from modest means in remote village of Magani in Udhampur district.

Raghav, a right-arm medium pacer selected for Under-23 One-Day Tournament, reported to the nets in chappals and when asked as to why he did not wear a shoe, he said that he is from a family with modest means and his father Kartar Chand is a daily wager and can’t afford to buy a shoe for him, not to talk of a spike.

On behalf of the Sub Committee, Brig Anil Gupta, Member-Administration JKCA presented Raghav SG shoes to enable him participate in the U-23 One-Day Tournament.

It is pertinent to mention here that Raghav got the selectors nod while participating in the Talent Hunt 2022 trials held for the districts of Udhampur and Reasi at SMVD Sports Complex, Katra recently.
