Srinagar, January 31: Lamenting JKCA’s current regime, ex chief selector Sayyed Parvez Qaiser said that under the leadership of CEO and Irfan Pathan, the cricket association has damaged its roots.

Reacting to the Qamran Iqbal’s absence from team, he stated that not only the promising youngster but experienced campaigner Ian Dev Singh has also been a victim of Irfan Pathan’s wrath.

“There are 2 players missing in fact. Along with Iqbal, there is Ian Dev SIngh who was totally overlooked this year.” The former cricketer said, adding, “Both, reportedly, have been axed due to their clash with Irfan Pathan.”

Qaiser also claimed that JKCA had initiated an enquiry in the matter,
“Even after JKCA conducted an inquiry which cleared them, they were not considered.”

Taking a dig at Irfan Pathan, who is current mentor of J&K senior side but is not traveling with the team instead doing commentary for Star Sports, the renowned cricket expert said,
“The so called mentor, who is ever quick to accept praise while being away on TV jobs, has cut short the career of Ian Dev Singh and delayed that of Iqbal.”

With J&K doing wonders in the ongoing season of Ranji Trophy, SP Qaiser asserted that it can’t hide the association’s mismanagement,
“Winning in Ranji does not absolve Irfan Pathan or CEO of the injustice they have done to so many others.”

“Moreover, we all are glad that the team is performing so well, but we are not happy with the functioning of JKCA. These are two separate issues and should not be clubbed together.”
“The fact remains that JKCA under the present CEO and Irfan Pathan, have damaged its very roots.” He concluded.
