Srinagar, December 15: Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), alongside other five state associations, have not been included in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) draft electoral list for the upcoming annual general meeting.

The BCCI Electoral Officer, A. K. Joti, Tuesday released the final list, which excluded six state associations including associations of Punjab, Odhisa, J&K, Rajasthan, Tripura and Meghalaya.

Earlier, it was expected that the names are missing due to communication problem, however, these associations continued to not be a part of the final list. The reasons are yet to be discovered with the AGM scheduled for December 24.

The 28 associations listed will be eligible to vote for the pending election of BCCI’s vice-president and two members of governing council.

Although elections have been long-pending, JKCA is currently led by court-appointed administrators and CEO. Responding to why JKCA is not a part of the list, CEO, on Monday had said he will check for the reason.

“As far as my knowledge goes, the name was sent before the deadline. I have to check why our association is not in the draft list,” Syed Ashiq Bukhari, CEO of JKCA was quoted as saying by New Indian Express.
