Jammu/Srinagar, June 5: Displaying stellar grit, composure and grace talented batters Bawandeep Kour and Sheerazah Banoo slammed cracking centuries, while ace all-rounder Sarla Devi was again at her all-round best to guide their teams to convincing victories in the ongoing Senior Womens One-Day Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).

The performances of the players namely Rukqaya, Khushboo Aftab, Shaheena and Sanjana were also delight to watch.

The highlight of the tournament on day-3 today, was that the players showed stamina, grit, character, professionalism and application despite sweltering heat.

What was heartening to see was that the teams A5 and A4 played 100 overs in scorching heat (44 degrees) and humid conditions, thus setting an example of professionalism.

The Tournament is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) under the patronage of JKCA Sub Committee Members and under the supervision of CAC Members, while the matches are being observed by Senior Women Selectors and conducted by the Organising Committee Members.

Four matches were played today with two in each province.

Meanwhile, at GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu, JKCA A5 defeated A4 by 44 runs in a high scoring game. Earlier, put into bat, JKCA A5 scored a huge total of 270 runs in 50 overs. Bawandeep was at her murderous best, slamming a cracking century (102), hit the ball with grace and brilliance and sent the bowlers on a leather hunt. Sapna Jamwal also contributed valuable 44 runs to the total. For JKCA A4, medium pacer Heena Kouser and Mehak took 2 wickets each.

In reply, JKCA A4 managed to score 226 in 50 overs, thus lost the match by 44 runs. Sanjana top scored with 61 runs, while Sania Slathia and Shannu contributed 32 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Riyanshu took 2 wickets for JKCA A5, while Rifat and Alya claimed one wicket each.
At University of Jammu Ground, JKCA A2 defeated A3 in a pne-sided contest by 54 runs.

Put into bat, JKCA A2 scored paltry 79 runs. Skipper Sarla Devi scored 28 runs. For JKCA A3, Aanvi and Riya took 3 wickets, while was the pick of the bowlers, while Sheetal claimed 2 wickets.

In reply, JKCA A3 bundled out for meagre 26 runs. Nadia and Tanisha scored 9 and 8 runs respectively. Sarla Devi was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 6 wickets, while Kajal bagged 3 wickets.

At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Ground-A, JKCA B4 thrashed B1 by 6 wickets. Batting first, B1 scored a good total of 200 runs in 50 overs by losing 4 wickets. Rukaya Amin top scored with 91 runs, while Fancy Jan contributed 34 runs to the total. Shaheena Pathan bagged 2 wickets.

In reply, B4 chased the target in 44.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Shaheena top scored with 61 runs, while Rafiya Jan contributed 30 runs to the total. Mahroof and Iqra Rasool took 1 wicket each.

At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Ground-B, JKCA B5 thrashed B3 by a big margin of 161 runs.
Batting first, B5 scored a good total of 242 runs. Sheerazah Banoo top scored with splendid unbeaten 115 runs. She was in awe-inspiring touch, while Mahoora contributed 47 runs to the total. For B3, Quosar Jabeen and Aqsa claimed 1 wicket each.

In reply, JKCA B3 collapsed at 81 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 161 runs. Rubiya Syed top scored with 37 runs, while Irfana Ahad contributed 10 runs to the total. For bowling side, Khushboo Altaf took 5 wickets and Aabroo claimed 2 wickets.
