Jammu/Srinagar, May 15: The matches of Under-19 Women’s Cup started simultaneously at four venues in the twin regions of Jammu and Kashmir started on Sunday with several players returning with top performances.

 

In Kashmir, the matches were played at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium ground A and B, while in Jammu the matches were played at GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu and Country Cricket Stadium Gharota.

 

At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Ground-A, team B5 defeated B4 in any easy contest by 8 wickets.
Winning the toss and batting first, B4 scored 105 runs losing all their wickets in the process. Foziya top-scored with 29 runs, while Haleema contributed 13 runs to the total. Aabro was the pick of the bowlers for B5 team, who took 5 wickets, while Nusrat bagged 3 wickets.

 

In reply, B5 chased the target easily by losing 2 wickets to win the match by 8 wickets. Nidda top scored with 54 runs, while Sana chipped in with 13 runs. Halema and Nusrat claimed 1 wicket each for B4 team. Aabro was declared player of the match.

At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Ground-B, put into bat, B1 scored a decent total of 156 runs. Afreen top-scored with unbeaten 70 runs, while Nusrat Irshad contributed 20 runs to the total. Tashi Dolzes was the wrecker-in-chief, who captured 6 wickets, while Khushbu claimed 2 wickets.

In reply, team B2 got bundled out for 107 runs thus lost the match by 49 runs. Rafia (23) and Sanjeeda (15) were the main scorers. Mahroof took 5 wickets and Ahiza claimed 2 wickets. Tashi Dolzes was adjudged as the player of the match.

At GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu, team A4 got the better of team A1 by 6 wickets.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, A1 scored 114 runs in 25.3 overs. Aanvi Singh (20), Sonali (18) and Gurkirat (13) were the main contributors. For A4, Sambhavi Rajput and Priyamvada took 2 wickets each.

In reply, team A4 rode on a brilliant batting display by Bawandeep Kour who scored 53 runs off just 29 balls, hitting 12 boundaries, while Somya contributed 12 runs off 35 balls, thus A4 won the match by 6 wickets. For A1, Aanvi Singh bagged 3 wickets. For her knock, Bhawandeep was declared as the player of the match.

At Country Stadium Gharota, team A5 prevailed over A2 by 15 runs. Batting first, A5 scored 100 runs. Vishaka and Neemami contributed 26 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For team A5, Simran Devi was the pick of the bowlers who took 5 important wickets.

In reply, team A1 bundled out for 85 runs. Vanshika top scored with 22 runs. For A5, Gargi was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 6 wickets, which fetched her player of the match award.

Member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), Abdul Qayoom and Senior Selector Masarat Ahad inaugurated the matches at Srinagar, while Member CAC Roopali Slathia, Chairperson Senior Selection Committee Surabhi Dadheechi and Selector Madhu inaugurated the matches at Jammu.

The Organising Committee for Jammu province included Sandeep Singh Singh, Veemarsh Kaw, Mohit Puri and Surekha Devi, while the Organising Committee for Kashmir province included Zahoor Sofi, Manzoor Ahmed Lone, Huwaid Ronga and Tasaduq Rashid.
