SRINAGAR: Eleven matches were played Tuesday in State Cricket Academy T-20 Championship across various district of the state. The tournament reached Chenab valley as well with couple of games played there as well.
Riding on a solid 55 from Zubair, Kandi Xi beat Galaxy Sports by 20 runs in the first quarter final of district Baramulla leg of the tournament. Batting first, Kandi XI limped to 120 for the loss of eight wickets before bowling well to restrict Galaxy Sports to 101 for the loss of nine wickets. Zubair was given man of the match award for his match winning 55.
In Pulwama district, Shinning Star Pampore beat JCC by eight wickets. Batting first, JCC managed to score just 104 in the allotted 20 overs which was chased down easily by Shinning Star. Yaseen starred in the chase making 52 to earn him the man of the match award.
Sozeith Fighters beat Imran Xi by 41 runs in the district Budgam leg of the tournament. After putting a score of 146 in the allotted 20 overs, Sozeith shot out Imran XI for just 105. Mohd Shaban was given man of the match for his all-round brilliance making 48 runs and taking two wickets.
Dachnipora XI beat Mattan Blues in Anantnag district fixture. Batting first, Mattan Blues in the allotted 20 overs made 123 which was chased down in 19.4 overs by Dachnipora XI. Zahid for his quickfire 33 was awarded man of the match.
Over in Chenab, the first encounter of the tournament proved to be lopsided affair with Combine Cricket Club Bhaderwah thumping Eleven Stats Bhalessa by 58 runs. Lakhan was the star of the show making 35 and taking two wickets.
In Srinagar FCC Nawakadal beat Kashmir Gymkhana by 81 runs. Batting first, FCC amassed a score of 179 and then bowled out Kashmir Gymkhana for 98. Sameer was given man of the match award.
