Junior golf coaching camp concludes at RSGC

Junior Golf Coaching Camp organized by Professional Golfers Association of India (PGAI) in collaboration with Royal Springs Golf Course (RSGC) concluded at RSGC here on Sunday.junior golf

The camp saw participation of around 170 students from government and private schools of district Srinagar, Budgam, Ganderbal and Pulwama.

 At the concluding function retired Justice Muzaffer Jan, PGAI President Vicky Shaw, Secretary RSGC Ghalib Shah, renowned golfer and trainer Romit Bose and JK Golf Association Secretary Shabir Bhat were the guests.

The best eight students among the 170 students were awarded. It included six boys and two girls including one from Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pulwama.

Saqib Ali of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Soura, Shahid Bashir of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Beerwah, Qamran Farooq of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Soura, Mohammad Anzar Raza of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Soura, Asif Sofi of Government High School Wakura, Rabia Gul of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Pulwama, Zuhair Mirza Non Resident Kashmiri (USA) and Aisha Amir were declared best.

Terming her experience of playing golf as an eye opener, Rabia said, “It was first time that I saw golf being played in front of me and then myself getting involved in play. It was new experience and it also opened my eyes that golf is not as simple as it looks on Television. It involves more than just hitting a ball. I loved it and would like to come here again and play,” said Rabia from Pulwama.

Prominent Event Manager, Danish Aman said they would try to conduct more such events in coming time.
