After early start was hampered by bad weather main attraction of the ongoing Khelo India Winter Games, skiing events began on Sunday with J&K athletes dominating the Alpine skiing events in Children’s category that were held at Gulmarg.

It was festive look on the slopes of Gulmarg with children’s competing in Alpine skiing events. To make sure course remains perfect Olympian Gul Mustafa was assigned the job of setting the course by Winter Games Association of J&K.

In the Alpine Skiing, children’s C1 category, Syed Zain of J&K bagged first place while as Romainul Madina of J&K and Priyansh Kanwar of Uattarakhand bagged second and third places respectively. In C 1 Girls category, Mehak Kanwar of Uttarakhand bagged first place while as Aiza Noor of J&K and Naira Makhdoomi bagged second and third place respectively. In C2 Girls category, Jaza Ahmed of J&K bagged first position while as Rubab Ali Punjabi of J&K and Rida Altaf also of Punjab bagged second and third positions respectively.

In sledging  race Mohammad Rafique Lone, Parvaiz Ahmad Lone and Abdul Rashid Lone bagged first three positions respectively. In Ski Cycle race , Naveed Ahmad Reshi bagged first position while as Shabir Ahmad Chak bagged second and Rizwan Ahmad Reshi bagged third.

Apart from skiing and snowrace , the matches of Snow Rugby , Snow Baseball and Ice Stock were also held on the second of the games. The events will continue on Monday.
