Srinagar—Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh has been unanimously elected president of All J&K Wrestling Association.

The other members elected to form the new team of office bearers of the sports organization are Rakesh Khajuria as General Secretary, RK Men as treasurer. Singh and other office bearers were during an open election process which was held under election observers. Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Waheed-Ur-Rehmaan Para among other senior officials of sports department were present on the occasion.wrestling-lal-singh

Speaking during the funcation, Singh said that he will work to attract youth towards this traditional game.  He asserted that it was unfortunate to see that the youth are losing interest in wrestling despite it being the traditional game of India.

“We would organise series of wrestling camps in different parts of J&K including inter-state competitions to revive the dying wrestling tradition in the state and take it to the international level,” Singh said.

The Minister said the role of Jammu and Kahsmir Sports Council is commendable in uplifuitng the sports arena of the State. He siad that under the leadership of Minister for Sports, Imran Reza Ansari,  the sports sector across the State was recieving a new flip. he complimented him adn his entore team.

Later the Ministers interacted with the sports persons of the State and aussred them that the all possible help would be provided to them for excelling in various sports activities. Singh also hailed the role of Minister and his team for bringing sports to the new heights in Jammu and Kashmir.
