“Local clubs are better than J&K”, “What’s Yudhvir doing in team?”, “On what basis is Pundir captain?”: Fans angry as J&K end T20s with 6 losses

Feature“Local clubs are better than J&K”, “What’s Yudhvir doing in team?”, “On what basis is Pundir captain?”: Fans angry as J&K end T20s with 6 losses

Cricket fans across Jammu and Kashmir are expressing anger as J&K ended Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on a dismal note with 6 defeats in 7 games.

Fans are pointing fingers towards team’s selection with same players being opted across formats. Many people on social media, while critising team’s performance, said local teams are better than this J&K team.

“I think Pulwama Gymkhana or SW Baramulla are better than team J&K,” wrote Younis Kashmiri, a netizen.

Another user, Teeli Lateef, complimented Younis, saying, “Ise achi team Ali Jana Cricket Club or Sultant Warriors Baramulla hai,”

Social media users also questioned the place of Yudhvir Singh in the team. The pacer has been leaking a lot of runs and going wicket-less but still kept in playing XI.

“Yudhvir Singh! How is this guy even in the squad?”, asked Uqba.

Another user said, “JKCA’s obsession with Yudhvir Singh is unbelievable. This guy neither bowls, nor bats!,”

Similar quiries were raised against captain Shubham Pundir. The Jammu cricketer had a similar tenure last year as well, where J&K rarely won any matches.

”Captain change karo,” wrote Umar Asgar Khan on Facebook.

“On what basis is he captain? He doesn’t make runs, his decisions as captain are so bizarre,” another netizen said.

J&K managed to only win one match against Arunachal Pradesh and finished on 7th position in Group ‘C’ Points Table just ahead of Arunachal.
