JAMMU/SRINAGAR, June 4: Talented medium pacer, Bismah Hassan produced a magical spell and captured 7 wickets in a low scoring match to power JKCA B2 to convincing win, while ace all-rounder Sarla Devi was at her all-round best to guide JKCA A2 to emphatic victory, besides Sherazah Banoo, Rifat Chowdhury and Nadia Chowdhary displayed good performances on day-2 of the ongoing Senior Womens One-Day Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at different venues across the Union Territory.
The Tournament is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) under the patronage of JKCA Sub Committee Members and under the supervision of CAC Members, while the matches are being observed by Senior Women Selectors and conducted by the Organising Committee Members.
Four matches were played today with two in each province.
At GGM Science College Hostel Ground Jammu, JKCA A1 defeated A3 by 5 wickets.
Earlier, put into bat, JKCA A3 scored a modest total of 108 runs. Nadia Chowdhary top scored with magnificent 47 runs off 56 balls. For A1, medium pacer Urvashi was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, while skipper Sandhya Sayal claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, JKCA A1 chased the target by losing 5 wickets to win the match by 5 wickets. Shivanti Gupta scored 25 runs, while Sandhya Sayal contributed 23 runs. Nadia took 3 wickets for JKCA A2.
At University of Jammu Ground, JKCA A2 defeated A5 in an close contest by 2 wickets.
Put into bat, JKCA A5 scored 124 runs. Skipper Rifat Chowdhary scored magnificent 64 runs. For JKCA A2, Sarla Devi was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, Kajal claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA A2 chased the target by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium Ground-A, JKCA B2 thrashed B3 by 7 wickets.
Put into bat, B3 scored a paltry total of 64 runs in 16.1 overs. Rubiya Sayed (20) and Snowbir (18) were the main contributors. Bismah Hassan was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 7 wickets, while Gousia and Asra Shafi bagged 1 wicket each.
In reply, B2 chased the target in 15 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Zeenat Ramzan top scored with 31 runs, while Suhaila contributed 12 runs to the total.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Ground-B, JKCA B1 defeated B5 easily by 9 wickets.
Batting first, B5 scored a good total of 178 runs. Sheerazah Banoo top scored with splendid 88 runs, while Kayinat Bakshi contributed 24 runs to the total. For B1, Rehana Banoo and Maharoof claimed 3 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA B1 scored the required runs in 33 overs by losing 1 wicket, thus won the match by 9 wickets. Ruqaya Amin top scored with 78 runs, while Rehana Banoo contributed unbeaten 60 runs to the total. For bowling side, Sheerazah claimed the lone wickets to fall.
