Srinagar: Mayor of Srinagar Junaid Azim Mattu on Friday inaugurated the Autumn Cricket Cup 2022 organized by the Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) at Green Valley Educational Institute Elahibagh Srinagar. The Mayor also inaugurated the Cricket Academy of the institution.

After inaugurating the Cricket Academy, Mayor was seen hitting the ball with students and the school administration amidst applauds of the huge number of spectators.

In the three day event, four teams, Global Kunwar School Lucknow, Green Valley Educational Institute, Oasis Srinagar and SRM Welkin Sopore are participating.

Speaking on the occasion Junaid Azim Mattu said, “I always feel very happy to be in the Campus of Green Valley School especially at such sports events. These events help our youth to grow and increase their productivity and utilize their energy in a very positive manner. I feel very proud that this institution has developed professionally with such world class infrastructure”.

Highlighting the importance of games in life, the coach of Global Kunwar School Lucknow, Aman Dixit said, ” We are highly enthusiastic about the game. Our children are determined to give their best. We had a very nice experience so far and we are looking ahead to have a wonderful time over here. We have a physiotherapist and a manager to help our team and we feel we are more like in New Zealand”.

Chairman GVEI Mohammad Yusuf Wani on the occasion said, “we are looking for more and more teams from Pan-India and are committed to restore the pristine past glory in the field of sports”.
