Misbah, Sangakkara set to play for MCC against Afghanistan

CricketMisbah, Sangakkara set to play for MCC against Afghanistan
Misbah-ul-Haq is set to join the likes of Kumar Sangakkara and Shivnarine Chanderpaul as part of the star-studded MCC squad, set to play against Afghanistan on July 11 at Lord’s.

The former Pakistan skipper retired recently after leading his team to their first ever series win against West Indies last month. In-form Sangakkara and Chanderpaul have been currently playing domestic cricket in England.

Both Misbah and Sangakkara have retired from international cricket.

Led by former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, the side also includes England allrounder Samit Patel and former wicketkeeper Chris Read. Ireland duo of Tim Murtagh and George Dockrell complete the bowling line-up alongside Surrey’s Stuart Meaker and Durham seamer Chris Rushworth.

It will be Afghanistan’s first 50-over game at Lord’s.
