Srinagar, August 15: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad led by MS Dhoni Friday reached Chennai for the pre-Indian Premier League (IPL) camp.
The Chennai-based franchise will hold a week-long camp before they leave for UAE. The camp will be overlooked by Lakshmipathy Balaji, the bowling coach of the side.
“Thirteen or 14 of the 16 Indian players will be part of the camp, including MS. Since they came after undergoing COVID-19 tests, their next test will be 72 hours before leaving for the UAE on August 21. They will start training from tomorrow,” a CSK official was quoted as saying by PTI.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to see former Indian skipper in action as he remained out of the scene after India’s exit at the 2019 World Cup.
As IPL was earlier postponed due to coronavirus outbreak, there were speculations that Dhoni might not hit the ground again if IPL doesn’t happen. However, the BCCI finally decided to hold the mega event at UAE from September 19.
