The pre-season training camp of Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League-2019 started at Reliance Corporate Park Mumbai with 17-year old pacer from J&K, Rasikh Salam Dar impressing everyone with his pace and bounce.

Rasikh Salam is the only cricketer from J&K this season in IPL after being picked up by Mumbai India’s during players’ auction. Dar who came on the scene through district level tournament and then was spotted by Irfan Pathan also made his senior debut for J&K in formats this season.

Ahead of their first match in IPL against Delhi Capitals started its training camp in Mumbai. The camp began with new recruits Barinder Sran, Jayant Yadav, Pankaj Jaswal and Rasikh Salaam Dar training with rest of the members of the team.

It was first opportunity for the new boys to spend time with the team and the support staff. Head physio Nitin Patel, batting coach Robin Singh, fielding coach James Pamment and bowling coach Shane Bond were present to guide the team at the venue, read Mumbai Indians official website.

During his first day of training in front of former international stars who are now coaches, Rasikh showed glimpses of his talent.

As per Mumbai Indians official website, Rasikh impressed every one with his pace and bounce and looks a great prospect for them in the upcoming season.
“The entire team also saw the first glimpse of the 17-year-old pacer from Jammu and Kashmir, Rasikh Salam Dar. The youngster, who returned after an injury lay-off, bent his back and was not shy to bowl the short ball. Rasikh was bowling probing lines under the guidance of bowling coach Shane Bond. Rasikh bowled in tandem with our seasoned campaigner Mitchell McClenaghan,” a report on website said.

After being picked up by Mumbai Indians, Rasikh joined team early to get fit with the help of support staff and trainers of the team. He later on also played T20 matches for J&K in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy.
