Srinagar, May 13: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Wednesday named Babar Azam as the new ODI captain, replacing Sarfaraz Ahmed.
“Just in: Babar Azam has been named Pakistan’s ODI captain – he is now in charge of both limited-overs sides,” ESPNCricinfo Tweeted a while ago.
There were deliberations that Sarfaraz might continue to lead Pakistan one-day team, however, the people at helm have decided to give Babar the lead.
The right-handed batsman was earlier named the captain of T20 team as well. With this move, Sarfaraz lost his captaincy in all three formats.
