Pakistan’s spot on the ICC Test Rankings may be in danger as New Zealand is poised to overtake the team depending on the outcome of the upcoming Test match against Bangladesh in Christchurch.

New Zealand beat Bangladesh in the first Test in Wellington by 7 wickets propped up by a Kane Williamson quick-fire century.

According to the ICC, if New Zealand wins the Test, it will move one point ahead of Pakistan, which is currently at the no. 5 spot in the rankings.

In case of a draw, the black caps will join Pakistan at 97 points, but will lag by a fraction of a point.

Pakistan recently slipped to the fifth spot on the back of a 3-0 series loss to Australia despite reaching the top spot on the rankings.
