International cricketer of Kashmir Parvez Rasool is delighted with his start in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. In his opening match Parvez scored match winning unbeaten 53 for Gazi Group Cricketers against Mohammedan SC at Dhaka on Thursday.
“It went better than what I had expected. Though in bowling I should have bagged atleast two wickets if not for the dropped catch and missed stumping chance but I did well in death overs,” Greater Kashmir quoted Parvez.
“While chasing the target, I formed a solid partnership with Nasir Hussain who plays for Bangladesh’s national team. I am happy to contribute for the win in my first match for the team,” he said.
About the team and the conditions, he said, “The team is well balanced and has got some big names of Bangladesh cricket in it. The conditions are favourable for my type of bowling and batting. I am confident that I will do well in the league”.
Parvez was given chance to bat at his normal position and he did well by scoring unbeaten 53 that included five boundaries and one six. In Indian Premier League (IPL) and while playing for India, Parvez was never given chance to bat up the order.
