J&K Ranji trophy team skipper and only International cricketer of State Parvez Rasool will receive the BCCI’s Lala Amarnath Award – honoring the best all-rounder in the ranji trophy at the BCCI Awards (Naman), which are scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on June 12.

BCCI announced the awards for the season 2016-17 and 2017-18. India captain Virat Kohli’s phenomenal batting form has fetched him the BCCI’s best cricketer award for two seasons, while World Cup stars Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana were chosen for the women’s equivalent of the honour, the Board announced. In the awards announced there was also good news for the cricket lovers of Kashmir as Parvez Rasool was announced as recipient of Lala Amarnath Award for 2016-17 season. In the 2016-17 Ranji trophy season, Parvez Rasool was best all-rounder in Rannji trophy.

It is prestigious award named after the legendary Indian cricketer Lala Amarnath Bharadwaj who was the first batsman ever to score a century for India in Test cricket. He was independent India’s first cricket captain and captained India in the first Test series win against Pakistan in 1952.

It will be second time that top cricketer of J&K would be bagging this award as he last time got it in 2013-14 season. In 2016-17 season, Parvez Rasool amassed 629 runs and took 38 wickets for J&K team in Ranji trophy. With the backing of those stats he was top all-rounder in Ranji trophy for the season. In 2017-18 season Parvez Rasool continued his consistent performance scoring 350 plus and taking 28 wickets for the J&K. He was this season third best all-rounder in Country.
