Srinagar, September 30: After making his IPL debut, Abdul Samad, Tuesday said that people in Jammu and Kashmir have high expectations from him and he hopes to do well.
The only J&K cricketer playing this year’s IPL scored unbeaten 12 off 6 balls in his debut game against Delhi Capitals. Talking about his experience in the maiden outing, he said hitting six off Anrich Nortje gave him the confidence,
“Yeah, I felt really good playing my first match in the IPL. I also hit a big six off the bowling of Anrich Nortje, it gave me confidence that I will be able to do good in the coming games. People back home have a lot of expectations from me and I hope to do well,” Samad told Rashid Khan in an interview for IPLT20.COM after the match.
When asked about his approach on field, he said he was given the green signal to play his natural game.
“Before coming out to bat, the team management had told me to express myself and to play the way I normally do. I started hitting from the first ball, I missed one-two balls, but the six I was able to hit, I got a lot of confidence from that,” He said.
Sunrisers Hyderabad next plays Chennai Super Kings on October 2.
