Srinagar, October 23: J&K pipped Delhi in the super-over in a practice match played at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on Saturday.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Delhi opted to bat first. They lost a few early wickets before the middle-order came to the rescue.

Ayush Badoni was the star with the bat as he made 22-ball 47 runs. Apart from him, Rajesh Sharma (36) and Mayank Rawat (25) helped hosts post a par total of 154 runs.

For J&K, Mujtaba Yousuf was the wrecker-in-chief, picking 4 wickets by giving away 38 runs in his 4 overs. Yudhvir Singh also scalped two wickets.

In reply, J&K also lost opener Vivrant in just the third over. Shubam Khajuria (38 off 33) and Ian Dev Singh (27 off 26) then formed a good partnership to get visitors back on track.

However, after their departure, wickets fell in a quick succession. Lastly, the match was tied with J&K also making 154 for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

In the super-over, Abdul Samad and Manzoor Dar helped J&K put on 21 runs. Samad made 11 off 3 while Manzoor struck 9 in 3.

Delhi in response came very close but lastly, fell short by 1 run. They made 20 as Abid Mushtaq successfully defended the target for J&K.

These practice matches are played with an aim of prepare ahead of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which starts from November 04.
