‘Pseudo BCO Does Not Exist; It is Attempt To Sabotage Bijbehara Cricket Association’

Cricket'Pseudo BCO Does Not Exist; It is Attempt To Sabotage Bijbehara Cricket Association'

Srinagar: A day after J&K Cricket Association granted permission to Bijbehara Cricket Organisation (BCO) to conduct tournament in Bijbehara, a well known cricket organisation from the town,  Bijbehara Cricket Association (BCA) has termed BCO a fictitious organisation who aims to sabotage BCA efforts and activities.

Bijbehara Cricket Association issued a statement with a resolution that has been signed by 17 clubs of the town, strongly lashing out at persons behind this attempt.

“Bijbehara Cricket Association condemns in the strongest possible terms the useless acts of vested interests to sabotage the activities of BCA by creating obstructions for cricketing events organized by BCA at Govt Boys Model Higher Secondary School Bijbehara, Anantnag. Very recently a group of few people claiming themselves as BCO (Bijbehara Cricket Organization) has induced authorities for favour to deprive veteran BCA – Bijbehara Cricket Association from organizing cricketing events at the said ground,” BCA statement said.

“Since 2018, BCA, a well-established cricket association is endeavoring remarkable efforts in the field of sports particularly in cricket to uplift and imbibe the sports culture and the sportsmanship and therefore, playing a vital role in societal development not only in Bijbehara town or district Anantnag but also catering to whole South Kashmir,” it said.

The statement said that the achievements of BCA by producing national and International Cricketers are well known.

“BCA has produced more than 10 players who qualified for the higher-level cricket, viz Ranji Trophy, Vijay Hazare, U-19, U-23 & U-14. Besides putting up modern cricketing infrastructure like Turf Wicket, Pitch Roller & Digital Score Board, BCA has conducted 500 games of cricket in 17 successfully completed cricket tournaments including renowned Bijbehara Premier League (BPL Season 1st & 2nd),” it said.

The statement that BCA had also approached JKCA for permission on multiple occasions but were denied.

“It’s pertinent to mention that from last two years BCA has continuously sought permission from Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association vide application no. BCA/2021/BPL/09.08.21 & BCA/2022/BPL2/29.06.22 for allowing registered players to participate in Bijbehara Premier league, however, was denied every time. But to astonishment, JKCA is issuing now same permission in favour of pseudo-BCO (Bijbehara Cricket Organisation) that is fictitious and does not exist on ground from past half a decade,” statement said.

In the statement BCA warned that any vain attempt to sabotage cricketing activities will have serious repercussions, vowed BCA and many cricket clubs of the valley.

“At the press release almost all the cricket clubs of Bijbehara resolute unwavering support to BCA – Bijbehara Cricket Association and stated that We are not familiar with this papery BCO, the contribution of Bijbehara Cricket Association for the cricket is unparalleled and any conspiracy against it is intolerable.”
