Jammu, August 20: Former J&K cricketer and JKCA’s representative to BCCI, Ranjeet Kalra, Thursday conveyed good wishes to J&K’s cricket prodigy, Abdul Samad, as he left for UAE this morning.
Kalra took to social media platforms, including Twitter and Facebook, writing,
“Here’s wishing good luck to the promising J&K cricketer Abdul Samad as he leaves for UAE today to join the SunRisers Hyderabad team for the upcoming IPL – Indian Premier League. This message wouldn’t be complete without thanking his family, J&K coach Irfan Pathan Sahib , his Sports Council coach Randhir Singh (Rajan Sir) and Skipper Parveez Rasool for mentoring n nurturing this extra ordinary talent.”
Later while speaking to KSW, Kalra said, “I have observed him from his school days. Samad is a hard-working, extra-ordinary talent. He proved his credentials in the last first-class season.”
“He is a hard hitter of the ball and his known for fiery batting, something that’s very essential for T20 format. I am sure he would make all of us proud when he plays in the UAE for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team in likes of Kane Williamson and David Warner.”
