Srinagar, February 16: Citing “various aspects and the logistics” as a reason, Karnataka State Cricket Association is mulling to shift JK-Karnataka quarter-final out of Jammu.

As BCCI rules suggest, JKCA needed to host this match, owing to the fact that previous encounter between the two sides was played in Karnataka. However, Karnataka has written a letter to BCCI and JKCA, requesting to change the venue from Jammu to Bengaluru.

A source in association hinted that JKCA is most likely to agree to the proposal, considering the lack of ‘facilities’ in Jammu.

The unavailability of proper broadcasting infrastructure is also being told a cause of changing the venue, since BCCI has directed the state associations to pick the schedule where match could be telecasted.

Meanwhile, with the recently re-constructed Maulana Azad Cricket Stadium ready to host matches, the infra shouldn’t be a problem. The stadium is build on international standards, hence giving JKCA an opportunity to host this much-awaited match at home.

There is not any formal confirmation about the change in venue yet while the final decision is expected to be taken by BCCI after consulting JKCA.
