Real Kashmir FC kept its unbeaten record against its local rivals Lone Star Kashmir FC intact by emerging winner by 2-1 goals in the scintillating derby clash of second division I-League at synthetic Turf TRC ground here on Thursday.Real kashmir

Playing their last home match of the season, both teams tried to finish season on winning note. While Real Kashmir FC is in contention for next round in the league Lone Star are merely playing for pride. Lone Star nearly pulled off a shock draw but in the end Real Kashmir prevailed by 2-1.

Real Kashmir went into match with one aim, to earn maximum points as anything less would hurt them in the points table. It was visible from start as they tried to push for an early goal. They nearly went on to open account within five minutes off start but ball missed net by a whisker. In 15th minute of the game, Ritwik Kumar Das gave Real Kashmir lead by scoring the opening goal. Real Kashmir continued to apply pressure and got couple of close chances to score but failed to capitalize on that. In closing minutes of the first half, Ifham Tariq who was excellent in whole first half for Real Kashmir went on to score goal, thereby doubling the lead. In stoppage time of first half, Lone Star nearly pulled one back but failed to find net after goalkeeper was beaten. At half time, Real Kashmir was leading by 2-0.

If first half belonged to Real Kashmir, in second half, it was Lone Star who did the talking in the middle. Real seemed to be contend with the lead they had earned while as Lone Star was all over them to make score even. Dashyanng Kachru scored first goal for Lone Star in 60th minute of the game on a long throw. It made score 2-1 and Lone Star were looking threatening to pull off a stunning comeback. They nearly leveled the score with ball deflecting back from inside of Real Kashmir goalpost. Everyone thought scores are level even Real Kashmir FC keeper had left the ball only to realize that it came back into game and is not a goal.

Lone Star continued to apply pressure and got couple of chances only to be denied by Real defenders. In-between Real Kashmir also got a close chance to extend their lead but a brilliant save by Lone Star keeper denied them. The match ended with Real Kashmir emerging winner by 2-1 goals.

With that Real Kashmir kept its unbeaten record against local rivals intact while as they also kept the unbeaten record in this season league intact.

Real Kashmir FC with 16 points from eight matches is now standing at the top of the points table in the group while Hindustan FC with 15 points from seven matches is at second place. If Hindustan FC fails to win next match, then Real Kashmir FC will remain at top of the table.
