Srinagar, Oct 4: In the ongoing Salia Cricket Championship Wisden Cricket Club defeated Awanpora Sports Salia by six wickets at Eidgah Ground Salia on Saturday.
Batting first Awanpora Sports scored 146 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their alloted 20 overs. Aqib and Amjid scored 30 and 28 runs respectively for Awanpora Sports. For Wisden Cricket Club Junaid ,Hameem ,Danish picked up two wickets each while as Rouf took one.
In reply while chasing 147 to win ,Wisden Cricket Club started on a positive note as their openers put on 47 runs in 5 overs for the first wicket . Wisden achieved target for the loss of four wickets with two overs in spare.
Reyaz ,Rouf and Ovais scored 47 ,41 and 30 runs respectively for them.
Rouf was declared man of the match for his all-round show ,scoring unbeaten 41 runs with the bat & picking 1 wicket with the ball .
