Srinagar, Aug 7: Pakistan coach and former skipper Misbah ul Haq has brushed aside questions regarding former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmad carrying drinks for the team during Pakistan’s first Test against England at Manchester. Misbah termed it a non issue and said that even he carried drinks for his team when he was still captain.

Speaking to reporters after day 2 ended at Old Trafford, Misbah while replying to questions regarding Sarfaraz Ahmad coming into the field during the play carrying water and shoes said that it is not an issue.

“It is very common and I don’t think this was an issue for Sarfaraz either. Even I carried drinks for the team against Australia when I was captain but didn’t play that particular match in which I was the 12th man,” said Misbah.

A picture went viral on social media in which Sarfaraz was seen giving water to Shadab Khan and Shan Masood who were at the crease.

People were having mixed opinions as some thought it was disrespecting the former skipper while others pointed out how great players such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Ricky Ponting also carried drinks for their team.
