Jammu, October 23: Trial matches among Kashmir province players Wednesday started at two venues, here with 6 teams set to clash against each other for the final selection of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad.

The matches are being hosted by newly-made M.A Cricket Stadium and GGM Science College Ground. Two matches are to be played at each venue in a day.

Earlier, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) announced a long district-wise shortlist of Kashmir division players, who were sent to Jammu for further selection. Now, they have been distributed into 6 teams for trial matches. Each team will likely play three matches before another shortlist is made.

Later, shortlisted Kashmir province players will join shortlisted Jammu players for the final selection. At the time this report was filed, two matches were on at M.A Stadium and GGM College and two more matches are scheduled for afternoon.
