The status of Pakistan’s legspin all-rounder Shadab Khan for the ICC cricket World Cup is still in doubt as there is no final say from doctors on the Virus he had got.

Before leaving for lengthy England tour, blood tests had revealed the 20-year-old leg-spinner had contracted the disease, ruling him out of Pakistan’s tour of England and keeping serious doubt marks on his participation in World Cup.

As per report in Dawn, Shadab Khan had got hepatitis from a dentist’s unsterilized instruments. After a checkup with a UK-based doctor, the Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement with an update on Shadab’s condition.

“Shadab had a check-up with Dr Patrick Kennedy, a world renowned gastroenterologist and hematologist who specializes in liver disease in elite sportsmen and was put on medication,” the PCB statement read.

Shadab is set to undergo further blood tests in two weeks in Lahore, which will likely determine his availability for the World Cup, the PCB statement added.
