Srinagar, May 12: Former cricketer, Shahid Afridi on Sunday suggested Pakistan captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed to bat up the order following their defeat against England.
The former Pakistan skipper also adviced Men in Green to play positive cricket to get it going in the upcoming matches after they fell short in the second ODI of the ongoing five-match series against England.
Pakistan was chasing a mammoth total of 374 runs, however, thanks to a fabulous hundred by opener, Fakhar Zaman, tourists almost made it there.
Sarfaraz also played a cameo at the back end of innings, though failing to help his team cross the line. To this, Afridi thinks he should come to crease a bit earlier,
“I have always said that Sarfaraz batting at the top will always be beneficial for Pakistan cricket team,” Shahid was quoted as saying by Geo.tv.
The agressive batsman of his days, also adviced Pakistan to play positive cricket
“My advice to the boys is to play positive and aggressive cricket. [The] players will have to play each game as if it is their last game, seriousness should be there in every game.” He said.
He also remarked that the Asian side can make it to the top four in the upcoming World Cup,
“I have no doubts that this team can be among top four teams of the World Cup if boys play according to their potential,”
