Baramulla, July 17: Owais Arif and Rashid Khan Saturday ran away with man of the match trophies as they steered their respective teams to win in the ongoing 17th SNW Memorial Cricket Trophy.
Owais, playing for Asham Reds, first scored a quick cameo of 35 runs before returning with a 3-wicket-haul in the second innings. His contribution handed Asham a 3-wicket win against ACC Hawal.
Hawal was chasing a 170-run total. They found some sparkle, however, ended up falling short as they made 155 runs in response. Qaunain Shah was the highest run-getter for them with 37 runs to his name. For Asham, apart from Owais, Irfan made 48 runs after they elected to bat first.
In the second match, Rashid Khan finished with an unreal figures of 4-1-7-4. His excellent bowling helped WCC Sheikhpora Budgam restrict Pattan XI to a paltry total of 103 runs. Basharat was the only batter to show some resistance, making 25.
In reply, Budgam chased down the total without any trouble. Mushtaq Sultan made 40 while Muneer Khan struck 38, handing Budgam a 9-wicket win.
