
Welkin Sopore, March 25: In an inter-school cricket match played at Shah Rasool Memorial Cricket ground Sopore, today Sanctorum Higher Secondary defeated SRM Welkin comfortably by 25 runs.
After being invited to bat first, Sanctorum after a solid start were reduced to 80/7 in 10 overs but Saqib Bashir’s brilliant innings of 48 runs of 25 balls took them to 130/7 in alloted 15 overs. Faizan also added valuable 30 runs. For Welkin Amir and Waseem Ahmad took 3 wickets each.
Chasing the target, SRM Welkin lost wickets at regular intervals and only managed to score 105/10 in alloted 15 overs. Aadil Qureshi scored 22 runs. Manzoor Ahmad took 3 while as Saqib, Rameez and Zaid took 2 wickets each and Muzafar took 1 wicket for Sanctorum.
Saqib Bashir was declared as player of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
