Srinagar, June 2: Sports activities with no spectators have been allowed in green and orange zones of Jammu and Kashmir, Secretary Sports Council, Naseem Javid Choudhary, confirmed on Tuesday.

Although centre had earlier announced the guidelines to resume sports activities in areas else than red zones, it was uncertain whether players could hit the ground in J&K with a sharp rise in number of Covid-19 cases.

However, Sports Council has finally given the green signal, meaning sportspersons could soon be seen on field, though with proper precautions in place. The games should be held in closed doors with no spectators thronging to the stadiums.

“Sports activities have been allowed in green and orange areas but without spectators.” Choudhary confirmed to KSW.

As announced earlier, the green zones include the districts of Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch and Rajouri while as Bandipora, Ganderbal, Reasi, Udhampur and Jammu are included as orange zones.
