Srinagar, December 17: Jammu and Kashmir has been put in the Elite Group A as Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Wednesday announced groups and schedule for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20).

After relatively better performances in last two seasons of the Syed Mushtaq Ali tourney, J&K has found a place among top teams in Elite Group A. They will face mighty Karnataka in the first match on January 21.

Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Railways and Tripura are the other teams in the Elite A Group. All these teams alongside J&K will be travelling to Bengaluru as all their group matches are scheduled there.

The teams have been asked to reach their respective venues on January 2nd, where they will be under quarantine for a week and will be tested three times for Covid-19.

The knockouts of the tournament will be played in Ahmedabad. The teams have been distributed into five Elite Groups and one Plate Group with venues set as Bangalore, Kolkata, Vadodara, Indore, Mumbai and Chennai.
