Directorate of Physical Education & Sports, Kashmir University organised its annual Inter-College road race for men on Tuesday.
The event saw participation of over 140 athletes from 30 affiliated colleges of the University. The event was flagged off at Lalit Grand Palace crossing by Secretary Sports Council Waheed Ur Rehman Parra who was Chief Guest on the occasion. The event culminated at Rumi Gate Kashmir University.
Speaking on the occasion Parra congratulated all the winners for making it to the podium and encouraged all the athletes for participating in the event.
He assured them with every possible support both in terms of coaching and laying out of infrastructure on modern lines in the Valley for the augmentation of their skills and performance.
Tahir Aziz of GDC Kupwara bagged first position while as Manan of GDC Baramulla bagged second position and Ifshan Ahmad of GDC Magam bagged third position.
The medal distribution ceremony was held in the Directorate of Physical Education & Sports and the medals were distributed by Chief Guest and Director among the winners.
Prof. Nisar Ahmad Rather, Director Physical Education & Sports presented vote of thanks, he thanked Principals of all the Colleges, Participants, Physical Directors of Colleges, Staff of the Directorate, Proctorial wing and health centre for making the event a grand success.
