With an aim to attract Kashmiri youth towards rally sport, Polaris which owns iconic American motorcycle brand, Indian has appointed Taufeeq Mughal as its brand ambassador for North India.
Being in rally sport from 2010 and being part of Polaris ATV team for last four years, it is a new adventure outing for Taufeeq Mughal who has made his name in motorsport by competing in various rallies across country.
He has been driving ATV of Polaris and seeing his potential and talent, the company has appointed Taufeeq its brand ambassador for Indian motorcycle brand in North India.
Indian is an iconic American brand of motorcycles, originally produced from 1901 to 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts, United States. Hendee Manufacturing Company initially produced the motorcycles, but the name was changed to the Indian Motorcycle Manufacturing Company in 1928. In 2011, Polaris Industries purchased Indian Motorcycles. Since August 2013, Polaris has marketed multiple modern Indian motorcycles that reflect Indian’s traditional styling.
“It is an honor to be associated with such an iconic brand,” said Taufeeq who is SIPL J&K head.
“My 8-years of hardwork in promoting J&K in motorsport circuit has paid dividend as I have been given this opportunity,” he said.
About the basic aim of Indian motorcycle brand in J&K, he said, “Polaris has eyes on to promote rally sport on large scale in J&K. Apart from Indian motorcycle brand, company also produces ATVs that go with the local tourism industry in Kashmir. They want to attract J&K youth towards this sport”.
Taufeeq revealed that company is planning to conduct 50-member Indian motor cycle rally in J&K.
“I have been able to motivate the people associated with this rally to conduct it in J&K. they usually conduct it in other places but after my request they have given their nod. The rally will start in Jammu and will end at Leh after passing via Srinagar. The participants include some known celebrities and it will be really big boost for J&K Tourism,” he said.
Taufeeq started his motorsport career in 2010 through Sajoba rally and then went on to compete in Raid de Himalaya and Great Desert storm apart from Kashmir’s own motorsport brand Mughal Road rally.
