The trekkers reached Dumail at 9:30 in the morning where the facility was set by the mountaineer and instructor Junaid Beigh who provided technical tips to the members.

The ropes were fixed across Sindh stream of about 40 feet stretch from one point to another which were also given proper tensioning.

Each member was provided with the necessary gear including the harness and helmet for doing Tyrol.

Speaking about the activity, Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah said the Tyrol is very important activity for the mountaineering, rock climbing, river crossing and rescue operations.

“It is also used for rescue and evacuation operations. We have all the equipments and the gear available for Tyrol but we need people to know how to use them. The Tyrol was conducted in order to prepare mountaineers for such activities during mountaineering and rescue operations,” said Director Tourism Kashmir.

All the 60 members also trekked to Marchaoi which is a two hour trek from Dumail through lush green meadows, thick forests and wild flowers.

Director Tourism Kashmir said they are getting good response from the youth for Sunday treks.

“We want to utilize the potential of youth especially students for trekking activities. Those who are interested in mountaineering and hiking, we take them to Sunday treks and impart them basic skills in trekking. We are getting good response for such activity from youth,” said Mahmood Shah.
